Surgical technique according to Desarda

In this mesh-free surgical technique, the stabilisation of the posterior wall of the inguinal canal is carried out by additional (compared to the Shouldice technique) displacement of the fascia layers. A plastic mesh is not needed. With this net-free method, good surgical results can be achieved with small and medium inguinal hernias. In particular, this surgical method can be recommended for patients with a low risk of recurrence who are also sceptical about plastic meshes.
